This spring, let Schoeller Allibert help you clean up and recycle
Are you keen to optimise your ability to recycle? Whether you recycle metals, electronics, batteries, food and more, Schoeller Allibert is able to provide you with the correct solution. And as much as possible, our recycling solutions are made from recycled materials. So let us help you improve your operations. There’s no better time for it than now.
Recycling is good for the planet because it limits the need for virgin resources. It’s also good for the companies doing the recycling, as it turns waste – the storage and disposal of which are costly – into reusables, which are a potential source of revenue.
Case Studies
Schoeller Allibert is very proud of getting the theory right – more on that below – but nothing delights us more than seeing our products creating benefits in practice. Here are a few recycling case studies that we’re particularly pleased with:
Together with WeCycle, a Dutch recycling company, we’ve taken old and end-of-life fishing gear and turned it into large (800 x 600) Stack Nest crates, ideal for… recycling! In so doing, WeCycle helped clean the ocean, avoided the use of virgin resources and saved on the use of fossil fuels – all without compromising the quality or strength of their products. That’s what we call Recycling2 (Recycling Squared).
With PreZero (formerly known as Suez), we collected old toys and upcycled them into brand-new MaxiLog®. This initiative not only helped PreZero to reduce waste but also gave a new lease of life to discarded toys that would have otherwise ended up in landfills. Our partnership with PreZero enabled us to create a closed-loop system for waste management, where the recycled containers could be re-used for waste collection. This is an excellent example of how upcycling can have a positive environmental and social impact, and we are proud to have contributed to this initiative.
Our rigid pallet containers (RPCs) are a versatile waste management solution used by a diverse range of customers to collect, store, and dispose of various types of waste, including both food and non-food waste. Food waste, for instance, is often collected in these RPCs and can be repurposed into pet food or biogas. Our customers from different industries find our RPCs useful for managing large quantities of non-food waste, such as packaging materials, electronics, and much more. Thanks to their large capacity, our RPCs are not only a cost-effective and efficient solution, but they also contribute to a sustainable future by reducing the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.
Need to dispose of hard-to-fit items? We’ve adapted the width, length and height of our MaxiLog® (to 1900 x 800) and of our BigBox Classic (to 1900 x 800 x 825) in order to fit outsized items such as used neon tubes...
Recycling streams
Thanks to our experience and expertise, we have tailored solutions for a variety of recycling streams, including (but not limited to):
Electrical and electronic equipment
WEEE stands for ‘Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment’ and it’s a valuable and booming business.
We recently introduced the tallest version of the Magnum Optimum® 1210
family, at a height of 1125mm. Thanks to its increased height and usable volume, this version is ideal for recycling large electronic items, including large TV screens. Thanks to its foldable design, the container takes up 74% less space during return transport.
Our bespoke designed Maxilog® (SKU 4429900) has a size of 1200 x 1000 x 1230 mm, which makes this RPC perfectly suited for collecting items such as printed circuit boards, which are lightweight but highly valuable.
Data storage equipment
We’ve introduced a special version of our Integra® range
(Attached lid container), which has been modified with an opening on the lid that makes it the perfect solution for safely and discreetly disposing of hard drives, USB sticks, CDs and other types of data storage units. We offer a tamper-evident solution for the lids, to increase the security of confidential contents.
Chemical waste
We also offer UN-certified solutions for the collection, storage and disposal of paint buckets and other types of chemical waste.
We have dedicated RPC versions of the Maxilog® and BigBox Classic for the storage and disposal of aerosols.
The BigBox Classic with SKU 44013U0 and the height-extended Maxilog® with SKU 4429900 (1200x1000x1230mm) are well suited for storing used paint buckets.
Used batteries
Our Geobox 250L is UN-certified for recycling both metal batteries (UN3090) and lithium-ion batteries (UN3480).
Our Kaiman attached lid containers with SKUs 8583002U and 91140U4 are UN-certified for the disposal of end-of-life lithium-ion batteries (UN3090/3480).
Our standard BigBox Classic 1210 and Maxilog® are ADR-compliant for the disposal of lead batteries (UN2794).
Metal waste
Our RPCs are ideal for collecting metal residue produced by CNC milling, which can be reused as a raw material.
Food waste
Our Big Box Classic 1210 and Maxilog® are used to deliver CAT.3 food waste to be recycled into pet food or used as a fuel for biogas. The JumboNest®
is used to collect CAT.3 fish waste to be recycled into pet food or fish bait.
Even more benefits
Schoeller Allibert has the right solution for every recycling stream. But we have even more benefits to offer.
SmartLink®
For WEEE (Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and other highly valuable recycling streams, you should consider Schoeller Allibert’s SmartLink® solution. This technology, developed in-house, allows you to digitize your supply chains by giving you the ability to track and trace the logistical units in real-time, which provides you with information on the location and movement of containers and the state of their contents. This information generates actionable insights, which help you optimize your flows.
Full recyclability
Schoeller Allibert takes recycling seriously. Not just by developing the right products for your recycling needs, but also by fully recycling our crates and containers. At the end of their very long life, they are 100% recycled into new and equally durable crates and containers, which in turn can be re-used for another ten to fifteen years.
CircuLine®
Following this principle, our materials innovation department developed CircuLine®, a range of products containing at least 30% recycled plastic, including, among many others, our Magnum Optimum® FLCs and MaxiLog® RPCs. Equally high-performing, but now even more sustainable.
